22 September 2022
This year we celebrate the 44th anniversary of the Rhode Island Senior Olympics. It has been a difficult couple of years for our entire country, and The National Senior Games as well as all of our state games were greatly affected. The resumption and timing of the National Games that were held in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. earlier this year necessitated moving the 2022 Rhode Island games to the fall.
At the moment, we are hoping to host as many as 7 events, including:
Basketball; Golf; a 5K Road Race; Pickleball; Softball (already held); Swimming &
Table Tennis. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we have not been able to create thenecessary organization and support to administer our signature event, Track & Field.
The Rhode Island Senior Olympics is an open competition, and welcomes all senior athletes from any state in the country. The registration form as well as the schedule of events is available on our website: riseniorolympics.org.
The Rhode Island Senior Olympics is a member of The National Senior Games
Association, and is the only qualifying site in Rhode Island for The National Senior
Games. The 2022 National Senior Games were held in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., with an attendance of more than 12,000 athletes. The 2022 Rhode Island Games will be the qualifying competition for the 2023 National Senior Games that will be held in Pittsburgh, PA from July 7 -18, 2023.
You can register by printing out a registration form and mailing it to us. We will continue to update the registration form as we obtain the necessary information to
hold additional events. If you do not have access to a printer, please let us know and we will mail you any information you require. If you have any questions or concerns about the conduct of this year’s event, please let us know and we will do our best to both consider and accommodate your request.
